From 8th – 14th April 2015 Bled hosted International Air Traffic Controllers Hockey Tournament.
Approximately 300 players and supporters – hailing from all over Canada, the U.S., Russia and Europe took part of this event, that “brings together our brothers and sisters from other air traffic control units and organizations in a spirit of camaraderie and charity,” summarized Mr. Dave Johnson, an organizer and Air Traffic Controller from Vancouver.
The annual event is held in a different location every year, with recent events hosted in Cleveland, OH, St Johns, NL, Fort Worth, TX, Calgary, AB and Helsinki, Finland.
Tournament participants were staying exclusively at the Park Hotel for approximately 6 nights. To make their stay as comfortable as possible we accommodated them in the renovated rooms with spectacular views over the Bled Lake which they proudly shared via social media channels afterwards. Besides Panorama hall was transformed into a “hospitality room” with sofas, bar tables and separè corners to enable them to network and spend some quality time together at the evenings in the intimate but cozy sphere. Special dining options were presented and due to the positive feedback that we received from the main organizer, participants are already looking forward to repeat this experience in the near future with their families and friends.
