As part of its ongoing commitment to a superior stay experience, City Hotel Ljubljana has made improvements that have enabled the hotel to move from the 3* Superior category to the 4* category. Each innovation has been thoughtfully designed and selected to further enhance the comfort of hotel guests.
Renovation of rooms
The City Hotel Ljubljana boasts 207 comfortable rooms for couples, business travellers, families and friends, which have undergone several phases of extensive renovation in recent years:

Additional room amenities
A number of new features have been added to all 207 of the hotel’s rooms to further enhance comfort. The luxury sleeping concept, as it is called at City Hotel Ljubljana, includes new beds of the highest quality, a special selection of pillows, superior bed linen and other living comforts.
Hotel conference centre
The completely renovated conference centre, which covers 166 m2 and can accommodate up to 180 people, is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for tailor-made events. It offers four different halls and the possibility of flexible room combinations for live and hybrid events. They are supported by the latest technology:

* Delicious coffee breaks, exquisite banquets, business lunches, glamorous banquets and elegant standing receptions.
Hotel summer terrace
The renovated terrace Above the City has become a green corner, offering a private and relaxed environment for business meetings, social gatherings and evening parties with a magnificent view of Ljubljana Castle. It is also very suitable as a venue for various public and private events for 50-70 people.
In the warm months, weather permitting, a hotel breakfast is also served on the terrace, which is a great added value for hotel guests in the very heart of the city. They can enrich their meals with herbs that grow right around their tables.
In 2022, they radically refreshed the look of the restaurant, refinishing it with a wooden floor and furnishing it with comfortable and versatile seating from the Slovenian Drugačno pohištvo line. In doing so, they have kept the typical “retro vibe” while adding a few special features – the white Ljubljana rose, an authentic Ljubljana bench and a “selfie point” with Rog’s bicycle, further linking the hotel’s identity to our green capital.
Hotel fitness
You can also try out the City’s completely renovated fitness centre, located on the first floor. We proudly opened it in April 2023, with your comfort in mind and a seamless workout experience with equipment from Slovenian brand Kingsbox.
A special feature of the City gym is the functional Mighty CX-35 CPS cage in City gold, which, together with the overhead lifting bars, allows you to perform a variety of exercises using Kingsbox weights and your own weight, such as squats and leg lifts with weight, bench presses, deadlifts, pull-ups and chin-ups on the bar, and biceps and triceps exercises. There is also a cardio corner in the gym, where there are machines suitable for all fitness levels:

Premium mats are also available for yoga, pilates and other floor-based workouts. The room features anti-vibration flooring and large windows with plenty of daylight and views of the City summer terrace.
Upgrading services
With the upgrade to 4 stars, City Hotel Ljubljana has upgraded a number of services, some of which are highlighted below.
City Hotel Ljubljana also boasts an expanded breakfast menu, which is carefully prepared every morning for both hotel guests and visitors.
The lobby bar has been enriched with a delicious selection of hot and cold snacks, including daily soup and hot dishes. The bar’s varied culinary offer is also available in the form of room service for guests who wish to enjoy the privacy of their room.
A cosy corner at the hotel reception offers a carefully considered selection of drinks, a wide variety of snacks, useful travel accessories and a souvenir programme from renowned local artists, available 24/7.
The City’s commitment to sustainability includes reducing waste, water consumption, saving energy and supporting local suppliers and green practices. In 2023, they launched the well-received “YOUR GREEN CHOICE” initiative, where guests with longer stays are offered the opportunity to decline a daily cleaning service, making a significant contribution to our sustainability efforts, and we thank them with a complimentary drink in the City Bar.
They are the first in Ljubljana to be proud recipients of the Disabled Friendly Gold Certificate. This recognition by the Premiki Institute will serve as a starting point for further efforts to ensure that all guests have unimpeded access and the most comfortable stay in our hotel.
They want to ensure that all guests have the smoothest possible access and stay at the hotel. For this reason, the exterior, the public areas of the hotel and certain (specially adapted) rooms have been designed to take the needs of disabled, deaf/hard of hearing and blind/visually impaired guests into account as much as possible. The entrance and the hotel lobby on the ground floor are easily accessible and spacious, without steps or carpets.
The reception area is equipped with hearing loops and magnifying glasses, and above all, the hotel staff is empowered with the knowledge to offer each guest a completely individual solution to ensure their best experience with us. The lifts are large enough and have wider doors suitable for wheelchairs. Where possible, corridors have ramps instead of stairs. The restaurant and conference centre are located on the ground floor and are very open and fully accessible, including adapted toilets. There is also parking for people using assistive technology in the underground garage.
There are 6 spacious rooms (35 m2) in the Comfort category, adapted for wheelchair users. The bathrooms are equipped with adapted sanitary facilities.
