GR Ljubljana: Prestigious global congress on autoimmunity held in Ljubljana

The International Congress on Autoimmunity is the largest multidisciplinary congress that covers all aspects of related diseases, offering lectures and courses by some of the world’s most renowned experts.

GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Congress Centre hosted the 14th International Congress on Autoimmunity between 17 and 20 May 2024. The congress convened over 1000 attendees from 70 countries.

The congress hosted world-renowned experts who discussed all aspects of diseases related to autoimmunity. Among the keynote speakers was Nataša Toplak from Slovenia, a specialist in paediatrics. At the same time, the congress presented an opportunity for young experts to present their research to other congress participants. They could also engage in conversations with professors.

The congress was held in several halls of GR, in addition to the plenary hall. At the same time, a large professional exhibition was held in the Kupola Hall, where more than 20 companies presented their services, mainly from the pharma industry. After the opening evening reception, where they presented the lifetime achievement award in autoimmunity, plenary lectures and parallel sections followed over the next two days. During the breaks, the participants could learn more about autoimmunity through professional posters and take part in debates.

Kenes Group prepared recommendations for exhibitors to reduce their environmental impact with joint efforts. Among the mentioned tips, Kenes Group recommended that exhibitors consider an exhibitor stand that can be reused and is made of environmentally friendly materials, using technical equipment with low energy consumption, and donating money instead of preparing gifts for the participants. Kenes Group also encourages exhibitors to measure their carbon footprint and share their progress with others. You can find more tips on their website.
