Ptuj – the treasury of the millennia is welcoming you to dicover it’s stories and to feel the rich culture of the oldest slovenian town. One of the main trademarks and symbols of SSlovenia is the one and only mystical kurent and his rounds, which were added on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. This year Slovenia’s oldest town Ptuj is organizing the jubilee 60th edition of the Kurentovanje International Carnival in Ptuj. They will host up to 5.000 carnival characters and masks and about 100.000 visitors from near and far. You are kindly invited to be part of one of the biggest carnivals in the world and to carry the spirit of Kurentovanje to all the parts of Slovenia and abroad.
