From 14th to 17th April 2015, Balkan Medical Task Force (BMTF) representatives met in Ljubljana for the third time to support Slovenian country by signing an international cooperation agreement with BMTF.
BMTF is a joint initiative launched by the US and Norway, and comprises six nations in the region (Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Slovenia and BiH). Regional security is one of the areas that Slovenia is very active in. Close cooperation with neighbouring countries and countries in the region paves a way to open, successful and confident relations and understanding. One of the very successful projects in the area of regional defence cooperation is Balkan Medical task Force that is establishing a medical operational regional capability that will be able to respond in crisis situations. The project is financially supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Defence.
