After a few months’ break, the Slovenia Meetings team attended a fantastic MICE workshop in France in person. In early September 2020, the Slovenian Convention Bureau showcased Slovenia and its seven amazing partners, various providers of MICE services in Slovenia at the networking event in Paris.
At the beginning of September 2020, the Slovenian Convention Bureau, in co-operation with the Slovenian Tourism Board and a spirited partner, French MICE agency Partance, organised and held a specialized workshop in Paris intended to present Slovenia to a French community of experts in the MICE industry. The main theme of the event was “Back to School” which was symbolically linked to the activation of the industry.
For the past couple of years, the Slovenian meetings industry has been recording a growing number of business guests from France, in part due to the good flight connections between the two countries, which makes France a market with a large potential for growth in terms of Slovenia and business tourism. Therefore, the Paris workshop set the necessary grounding for expanding existing connections.
More than 50 top French meeting planners participated in the event where they had the chance to find out more about the opportunities for organizing events of various sizes in Slovenia. Seven Slovenian partners presented their range of congress services, hospitality, and DMC programmes, and offered an informative insight into the wide range of options that Slovenia can provide for the organization of various business meetings, events, congresses and incentive experiences.
The participating partners from Slovenia were: The Ljubljana Convention Bureau, Bernardin Hotels by Sava Resorts & Hotels, LifeClass Hotels, Hotel Kempinski Portorož, Sava Hotels Bled by Sava Resorts & Hotels, Bohinj ECO Hotel, and Intours DMC.
After a few months’ break, attending an event in person, contributed to the positive outcome of the workshop. The numerous new business contacts made by the two representatives of the Slovenian Convention Bureau at the event promise further growth of the Slovenian business tourism industry, which will be further upgraded through additional planned marketing activities for French clients in Slovenia and in France.
