The 1st Bled Meetings Forum

The 1st Bled Meetings Forum, organised by Bled Convention Bureau with assistance from agency Toleranca Marketing and held in Rikli Balance Hotel, hosted professionals from Slovenian MICE industry to learn and discuss the challenges and solutions for future of Slovenian MICE.

Namely, the event is intended to highlight the role and significance of the meetings tourism in the development of tourist destinations with a special focus on the Alpine meetings destinations of Slovenia (Bled, Kranjska Gora, Bohinj).

Almost 70 participants from Slovenian MICE industry were welcomed with an opening speech by Tomaž Rogelj, director at Tourism Bled, who emphasized how Bled has to have its own approach to stay visible and to follow its strategy of the tourist destination Bled for 2018-2025.

The programme continued with speeches from Gorazd Čad (Toleranca Marketing) on “What and why works in MICE marketing and what is possible to learn from 13 cases of good practice. Miha Kovačič, director of Slovenian Convention Bureau, talked about the megatrends in meetings tourism and how will Slovenia look like in 2021.

In the second half of the event, Vesna Klemenčič, head of Bled Convention Bureau held a presentation on “Bled’s Congress Industry 2030” followed by a roundtable titled “Is the meetings product of Alpine Slovenia enough competitive and do we properly harness the positive trends in the international meetings market?” The topic was discussed by Matija Blažič (Hotel and Glamping Ribno), Matjaž Jug (ETC Adriatic), Vesna Klemenčič (Bled CVB), Miha Kovačič (Slovenian CVB), Elizabeta Topolnik (TOP Agencija), and Matjaž Žnidaršič (Sava Hotels & Resorts).
