This EU initiative aims to promote smart tourism in the EU, network and strengthen destinations, and facilitate the exchange of best practices.

In the next step, all seven shortlisted destinations will be asked to present their candidatures in front of the European Jury. The European Jury will select two winners that will become the European Capitals of Smart Tourism 2022. The winners will be awarded in November 2021.
